INDICATIONS:
Cinepar Ibu Kid Suspension has antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory action and is indicated for reduction of fever including post immunization fever, for relief of pain like earache, toothache, painful teething, body ache, headache. Also effective for symptoms of cold and flu, mild to moderate muscular pain, pains of growing bones, juvenile arthritis and in minor injuries such as sprains, strains and sports injuries.
DESCRIPTION:
Cinepar Ibu Kid Suspension contains Ibuprofen which is a Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Agent (NSAID) that possesses analgesic and antipyretic properties. Ibuprofen is a non selective inhibitor of cyclo-oxygenase enzyme, a splice variant of COX-1 and COX-2.Ibuprofen is well absorbed orally; only less than 1% is excreted in the urine in unchanged form. It has a biphasic elimination time curve with a plasma half-life of approximately 2 hours. Plasma protein binding of Ibuprofen is about 99%. About 90% of Ibuprofen is metabolized into two major metabolites, A ((+) 2-4-(2-hydroxy-2-methylpropylphenyl) propionic acid) and B ((+) 2-4-(2-carboxypropylphenyl) propionic acid). The kidney is the major route of excretion. Plasma half-life of Ibuprofen is 1.9 to 2.2 hours.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Cinepar Ibu Kid Suspension should not be given to patients having asthma, urticaria or allergic reactions after taking Aspirin or other NSAIDs. It is also contraindicated for the treatment of perioperative pain and in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ibuprofen.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Gastrointestinal disturbances, dizziness, constipation, diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting may occur. Symptoms of side effects, if any, should subside after discontinuing the medicine. If symptoms persist, please consult the doctor.
PRECAUTIONS:
Cinepar Ibu kid Suspension should be given with care to patients with a history of serious gastrointestinal disorders, smoking and alcoholism. Caution is required if Ibuprofen is administered to patients suffering from bronchial asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Not recommended during pregnancy and lactation, except on the doctor’s advice.
DOSAGE:
Children 6-12 years: 10ml, 3-4 times a day.
Children 2-6 years: 5ml, 3-4 times a day.
Infants 6 months-Children up to 2 years: 2.5 ml, 3-4 times a day.
Infants 3 months-6 months: 2.5ml, 2-3 times a day or as directed by a doctor.
For oral use. Shake well before use.
STORAGE:
Store in a dark and dry place below 25°C/ 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
